Changelog
What is new in Doom Down.
Version 2.0.1
Reliability fixes from the launch review:
- "Skip tonight" and "later bedtime" now hold past midnight, and a bedtime moved to after 00:00 lands on the right night. The lock engages correctly on those nights.
- Cloud backup accepts the app's current data format.
- A confirmation dialog open when bedtime starts no longer leaves the screen unresponsive after unlock.
- Updates arrive as an "Update ready" prompt instead of an unexpected reload.
- Reminders work when installed to the home screen on Android and iOS; the status bar follows your theme; the screen stays awake again after switching apps.
Version 2.0.0
2.0.0 is the first release under the Doom Down name (formerly NightGuard). Here is what the app does today: a personal dashboard, cloud backup with email verification, and a refined bedtime lock to help you wind down more consistently.
Personal Dashboard
- Added a personalized dashboard for signed-in users, featuring a greeting and a "this week" meter against your own clean-nights goal.
- Added "My goals" to set sleep hours, clean nights per week, week start, and a "why I want better sleep" reflection.
Account & Cloud Backup
- Added email verification and password recovery by email.
- Added cloud backup per user with a device/session list.
- Added safe account switching: if a device holds another account's nights or has never synced, sync pauses so you can choose to use the cloud copy or keep local data.
- Added JSON export and account deletion options.
Bedtime Lock & Routines
- Refined the bedtime lock with a full-screen overlay showing the clock, time-to-wake, and 4-7-8 breathing exercises.
- Added unlock friction options: reflection, hold 5–120 s, type phrase, or three breaths.
- Added an editable wind-down checklist of up to 12 steps.
Stats & Settings
- Added stats for clean-night streaks, unlocks, ratings, and routine completion with 7/30-day charts.
- Added themes: Midnight, Black (AMOLED), and Ember (red-light mode).
- Added pairing guides for iOS Screen Time and Android Digital Wellbeing.
