Pairing with your device

Doom Down's bedtime lock covers the Doom Down app itself. To block other apps at night, pair it with your operating system's built-in tools. Doom Down includes step-by-step guides for both platforms in the app.

iOS — Screen Time

Use Screen Time to set a Downtime window that matches your Doom Down bedtime. You can also limit specific apps during that window. Doom Down's in-app guide walks you through it.

Android — Digital Wellbeing

Use Digital Wellbeing to set a Bedtime mode or app timers aligned with your schedule. Doom Down's in-app guide covers the setup.

Common questions

Does the lock stop me from using my whole phone?

No. The lock covers Doom Down itself. For system-wide blocking, use your OS tools (Screen Time or Digital Wellbeing) as described above.

What if I unlock during bedtime?

You'll face friction: a reflection prompt, then a hold button, phrase typing, or a breathing exercise. After your nightly limit, only a 60-second emergency hold is available.

Can I use it without an account?

Yes. Everything works offline as a guest. An account only adds cloud backup across devices.

Can I customize my routine?

Yes. Create a wind-down checklist of up to 12 steps and edit it anytime.

How do I move my data to a new device?

Create an account and let it back up, or export your data as JSON from the account screen and import it on the new device.

Still stuck?

This is a personal project. If something is broken or unclear, the fastest path is to export your data (so you don't lose anything) and email support@doomdown.com. See the privacy page for what is stored where.
